Happy Multicultural Children’s Book Day! To celebrate, I am reviewing Lump Lump and the Blanket of Dreams by Gwen Jackson. Lump Lump is a bear cub who is not keen on the idea of hibernation until he hears about the Blanket of Dreams. A sweet story about kindness follows. The story is inspired by Navajo culture and I really enjoyed that the illustration of the Blanket of Dreams is based on the work of Barbara Teller Ornelas, a fifth-generation Navajo weaver. While it doesn’t seem that Jackson is indigenous herself, she did consult with various experts on Navajo culture when writing the book. This is a sweet tale that would be great to read aloud before bedtime. Thank you to the author for sharing this book with me. #ReadYourWorld
